Feeling overwhelmed means that you are feeling stressed, anxious, or burdened by a lot of things that are happening in your life. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed from time to time, but if you are experiencing it regularly, it may affect your mental and physical health.

There are many reasons why you might be feeling overwhelmed. Some common causes include having too much work to do, dealing with difficult life events, financial problems, relationship issues, or feeling like you don’t have enough time to do everything you need to do. It can also be a result of a lack of support, feeling isolated or alone.

Symptoms of feeling overwhelmed can vary from person to person, but some common signs include feeling anxious, irritable, and easily frustrated. You might find it difficult to concentrate or make decisions, and you might feel physically tired, tense or experience headaches. You may also feel like you’re constantly on edge, and small things might feel overwhelming.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, there are some things you can do to help yourself feel better. Firstly, take a break and try to relax. You can do some breathing exercises, listen to calming music or take a walk outside. Secondly, make a list of what you need to do and prioritize them. Break down larger tasks into smaller ones, which makes it easier to manage. Thirdly, ask for help or support from friends, family or professionals such as a therapist or counsellor.

Remember that feeling overwhelmed is common and it’s okay to ask for help. By taking some steps to manage your stress and workload, you can begin to feel more in control and lead a more balanced life.
